Principal's Message

As the principal of T.L. Reed school it is an honor to work with an incredible community and staff who are committed to support every one of our students.  At T.L. Reed we believe that our students can best be supported through a collaboration between the school and families.  In 2020 T.L. Reed was recognized as a model Professional Learning Community and a Gold Medal PBIS school in Fresno County.

I pledge to partner with you to make T.L. Reed the ideal environment for your student, where they can grow and thrive before they take off to the high school level. T.L. Reed has a legacy of academic and co-curricular success for ALL students which will continue into the future because of the strong relationships built with parents, students, staff, and community partners. We will provide a rigorous, and exciting educational setting, a wide array of award winning co-curricular programs, and character development all in keeping with the ideals of Kings Canyon Unified School District

T.L. Reed is home to more than 600 students and over 50 staff members.  The amazing T.L. Reed staff is eager to work with your child to ensure your students’ success. We will continue to strive to provide a physically and emotionally safe environment where students know that we care about them while maintaining high expectations. By working together we will provide your student with an enjoyable, meaningful and rich educational experience. The T.L. We encourage you to be active in your students’ learning because being actively involved in your child's education is essential in developing a strong academic partnership between home and school. T.L. Reed Huskies will Be Safe, Act Responsibly, Respect Self and Others, and show Kindness is the Key.

 Our Expectations:

TLR Staff will set high standards for student learning,
maintaining communication with parents and community, actively caring for each student’s specific needs.

TLR Students will commit to being the best person they can be working hard to achieve academically and socially.

TLR Families will offer positive assistance and support to both students and staff through monitoring of homework and attendance, and participation in school activities.

Please read all sections of our TL Reed  handbook. It will be sent home with your child on the first day of school. Please take the time to go over the handbook with your student, so you will both be familiar with our procedures and policies. Keep the handbook as a reference throughout the school year.

You are always welcome to contact your student’s teacher, our Learning Director, Mrs. Atria, or our Principal, Mr. McCollum, at any time during the school year, if you have questions or concerns.
