This minimizes distractions and promotes the importance of going to school to learn.

KCUSD Dress Code Highlights

Head
- Hats must be solid khaki or white cloth type, with a 2" brim that encircles the entire hat (#1 b)
- Knit caps are allowed during cold weather (#1d )
- Baseball or cowboy hats are not permitted during the school day (#1c )
- Sunglasses (unless prescribed) not permitted (#2)
- Natural hair color only and no distracting haircuts (razor designs not permitted) (#11 )
- Only the ears can be pierced (#2 )
Shirts
- Tops need to be fitted around the neck and arms (no oversized shirts please) Remember… Tank tops are not acceptable, minimum of 3 inches of fabric on shoulder (#6)
- Hide undergarments (#4 )
- Professional Teams not permitted (#13)
- College team titles are OK…no logos
- Appropriate pictures and text (#14 a-h )
- May not promote; tobacco, alcohol, drugs, sex or violence
Pants/Shorts/Skirts
- Holes, rips or cut offs are not permitted (#5 )
- Wear at your waist (#5 )
- At least a 4-inch inseam (#7 )
- Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee (#7 )
- Leggings and tights must be covered by the appropriate length shirt, skirt or dress (#9 )
- No camouflage (shirts, pants, shorts or skirts) (#9)
Shoes
- No flip flops, shoes or sandals without heel straps (#3 )
